PAYE: Expenses and benefits returns

Although expenses and benefits returns P11D and P9D, together with the P11D(b) for the year ended 4 April 2008 are due by 6 July 2008, you can send them to us at any time before then.

If you usually send us paper forms, have you considered sending them online? The online filing service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This means that you can send your returns outside of peak times if it fits in with how your business operates.

To help you complete your 2007-08 returns we have published a list of errors to avoid in the April 2008 edition of the Employer Bulletin. We complied the list from reviewing the 2006-07 expenses and benefit returns sent to us, and it includes the main errors that stop us from processing the forms. If we cannot process any forms we will normally have to contact you to confirm or correct some details on the form.
